Control Centre Communications Review

Control Centre Communications Review

Layer 2 Intelligence was engaged by a major NSW Public Safety agency to conduct an in-depth review of their Control Centre Communication Systems (including the call recording systems) and provide reports documenting their status and recommended roadmap for upgrade. The deliverables from this analysis will be used by the agency to assist in planning their future projects.

The communications system integrates their Private Mobile Radio (PMR), Long Range Digital Radio (LRDR), NSW Public Safety Network (PSN, formerly GRN – Government Radio Network) and telephony networks.

As part of this analysis, L2iQ documented high-level business/user requirements and a concept of operations for the two systems. These documents were then used to inform the status reports and a proposed roadmap for upgrades to the communication system over two, five and ten years. The review analysed key areas including:

  • Optimisations in the current systems.
  • Ability to capitalise on advancements in technology by the industry; and
  • On-going support strategy.
A standard operator’s position at the Control Centre.

To complement the roadmap, L2iQ also performed a product analysis. Through market engagement, vendors were identified that could deliver suitable systems for the Client. Advancements in technology were also identified that can enhance the ability for mission-critical operators to respond as effectively and efficiently as possible.

L2iQ are pleased to bring value once again to the Public Safety industry, and look forward to continuing work with our client in the future.
